2. How are the classes structured?

Each class follows a carefully designed curriculum that builds on the previous lesson. You will engage in:

3. Can parents take classes with their kids?

*Busy, Regular, and Motivated Passes: Parents are welcome to observe student classes off camera.

**Regular Pass: Includes 1 Parent Pass for 1x weekly parent group class. One student pass for 2x weekly classes.

***Motivated Pass: Includes Household Pass - All children, parents and even grandparents can take classes (within one home address)! Students will have 2x weekly classes and parent group classes run 2x weekly. Both continue for 2 semesters - a full school year.

4. How can I learn ASL faster?

We offer two class options: once per week or twice per week. The twice-per-week option is recommended for faster progress. Practicing outside of class, engaging with Deaf communities, and using ASL in daily life will also greatly improve your fluency.

5. How long is a semester?

Our academic calendar includes two 15-week semesters: Fall and Winter/Spring.

6. Are there Summer classes?

Yes! We offer two shorter Summer sessions for students who want to continue learning year-round.

This Summer semester is designed for the highly motivated student to take an intensive full semester in just 9 weeks or for the student who wants extra practice so they can continue to the next level of ASL classes. For the busy student, we recommend taking either of the two shorter Summer semesters to keep signing skills up over the Summer.

NEW students must start in the Fall or Spring/Winter semesters. If you begin ASL 1 in the Spring/Winter semester and plan to continue with ASL 2 in the Fall, you'll need to register for the complete Summer Intensive classes to complete ASL 1.

7. Are the classes recorded?

No. All classes are live and not recorded to maintain privacy and encourage real-time participation. We highly recommend attending each class to keep up with the material.

8. What if I miss a class?

Since classes build on each other, catching up will require extra effort. There are no make-up classes, but we encourage reviewing provided resources and practicing with classmates.

9. Who are the instructors?

Our instructors are veteran ASL educators and nationally certified interpreters with extensive experience teaching both in-person and online.

They bring expertise, enthusiasm, and a passion for ASL education to every class.

10. Will I be able to have conversations in ASL?

Absolutely! Our curriculum is designed so that students start signing simple conversations from the very first class. Each lesson builds fluency and confidence in real-life ASL interactions.

Students are expected to:

- Attend all live classes whenever possible

- Stay muted unless asked to unmute

- Participate in partner and group practice

- Practice outside of class to reinforce learning

- Arrive prepared each week to keep up with the lessons
